CAROL KANAREK has provided career related services to lawyers, law students and law firms for over 20 years. Previously a transactional lawyer, she is a past Chair of the ABA Young Lawyers Division Career Issues Committee, a perch from which she conceived of and edited the first edition of Changing Jobs: A Handbook for Lawyers. Carol is a widely published author and frequent speaker at bar associations in New York and nationally and at NALP. She has a JD from the University of Michigan Law School and an MSW from NYU. Carol’s longtime legal career counseling career set the standard for job search guidance for lawyers across the spectrum. She continues to advise lawyers and legal employers on hiring best practices and career issues. She is enthusiastic about returning to a leadership role in the ABA and to contributing her wisdom and insights to the LCC initiative.
|JASMINE BALL is a corporate partner at Debevoise & Plimptonand member of the firm’s Business Restructuring & Workouts Group. Ms. Ball regularly represents debtors, investors, creditors and other parties in distressed mergers & acquisitions, workouts, debt and equity financing and refinancing, complex restructurings and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Ms. Ball is recognized by The Legal 500 US (2014-2015), where she is praised for her “strong management skills and critical thinking” and noted as “particularly good” and “thoughtful and smart.” Ms. Ball has been named a 2015 recipient of the “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business” awards. |JEREMY BLOOM advises students and attorneys on their careers at the University of Michigan Law School,and works closely with employers to help create opportunities for students and lawyers to thrive in their roles. Jeremy draws on his work experience as a corporate associate at Skadden in New York City, as a senior counsel at the New York Stock Exchange and at FINRA, co-founding and managing a boutique law firm in southeast Florida, and as senior compliance manager and counsel at a proprietary trading firm in New York City. Jeremy received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.|
